Who we are
The South Mobile Industrial Alliance is a non-profit consortium of industry leaders in South Mobile County, Alabama. Member company representatives usually have roles in Plant Management, Safety, Environment, or Community Relations / Public Affairs.
Our mission
Our mission is to provide a forum for interaction and communication:
- between industry and the community,
- to enhance cooperation and relations among industries,
- to work together on environmental and safety issues,
- and to align with the LEPC for Mobile County.
Proactive Emergency Services
- In conjunction with the Mobile County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), members align with the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
- As an organization, members practice mutual aid through tabletop exercises.
- Members discuss environmental and safety issues and share best practices.


Community Advisory Panel (CAP)
SMIA hosts a Community Advisory Panel (CAP) once per month, with a break during the summer. Meetings are held at the Southwest Mobile Chamber of Commerce on the third Monday of the month.
The objective of CAP is to provide local citizens the opportunity for an open dialogue with industry representatives, to help citizens to better understand industry issues, and to help local industry better understand community concerns.

The South Mobile Industrial Alliance serves as a voice between industry and the South Mobile community.
